(H)BIM Modelling
Brains Digital elaborated the as-is BIM model of the building in order to support the following design activities. The model is based on an accurate 3D laser scanning survey and the creation of complex geometries (such as the helical staircase, the vaults of the main volumes and the most significant architectural details) was completed by using computational design algorithms.
Palazzo Medici Clarelli, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, used to be the Roman residence of Cosimo II de’ Medici. The asset, built with loadbearing masonry and wooden floors, was completed around the first half of the 16th century and was further enlarged over the years. It is laid out onto five floors above the ground and one underneath, for a total gross surface of about 3,500 sqm.
